Probably best to have a bridle or strap already attached if it's likely you will get stuck. Although securing high up on a standard car may be difficult as I've seen plenty come off and end up getting wrapped around the wheels.

Thanks James, I thought about doing just that and tie the bridle up on the front bumper, but apart from a lack of suitable mounting points I was worried it might get snagged on something and put undue strain on the bumper.
I suppose I could get a short fabric strop and just extend one recovery point to just above the bumper, that would be fairly easy to secure with some shock cord.

I fitted a Jimnybits transfer case cover today.

It was fairly straightforward but the two bolts which pass through the frame/transfer case mounts weren’t the easiest to locate and tighten.
i only have the rear diff to do now, but that is back in my paint shed for a final coat.

I found a 550mm long soft shackle from Terrafirma, that might do the job

The final part of my Reeth to Ripon tour, this time it is Arkleside, Dead Man's Hill, Scar Reservoir and In Moor Lane.
I go on a two day trip over the weekend, Stokesley to Reeth, no doubt more video reports will be on their way.

Another good weekend on the lanes with Trails and Tracks, this time N. Yorkshire Moors and another ‘Pot of Gold’ for my Jimny.

Then day 2 in the Yorkshire Dales and another go at Fremington Edge.
