I seem to remember that the last time I needed a back box the genuine suzuki was cheap enough to not bother with an after market one and was very simple to fit (notwithstanding the huge collection of tools and experience I possess.)

I’ve not looked at or used the Jimny for about a month ( too busy and it’s been cold outside) but as usual it started instantaneously yesterday at the first click of the key.  I was thinking about changing the spark plugs as it’s been a while since they were last changed, by a garage.  I removed an existing one to check what was fitted.   It looked fine in appearance but are a Bosch R6 plug.  I was partly hoping to see a sooty covered plug which might have explained the poor pulling power of the car.

Ive ordered some NGK iridium BKR6E plugs from the green spark plug company

Could anyone kindly advise if there is supposed to be a gasket at the flanged joint at the input to the rear exhaust silencer.  I’ve had leaks at that joint despite remaking it several times but it’s blowing again and the two flat faces don’t butt together tightly, hence why I’m wondering if there should be a bridging gasket.  I’ve used an exhaust joint paste ( tried two versions actually) but on a vertical flanged joint it seems to struggle.  My other thought is that it’s just a crap aftermarket silencer, bought from eBay, as Suzuki no longer sell them for such old vehicles.

Thanks,
Paul
