Hi SPC5838, did you have any problems cutting your bumper down?
I was thinking of getting the KAP trim with bash plate but I like the look of yours.
As my Jimny is older, the spots are at a higher level but I still think I can cut it in the same place as you then I thought I would spray all the front end underneith in black to look neat. Any ideas where a bash plate could be bought from? I take it the front arches have to come out?? I also thought I could mount a sticky number plate on the bonet. Has anyone had problems with the police for having a plate there as I read somewhere it was ilegal but there seems to be loads op people with them on here!!!
One last question did you just jigsaw your bumper?
Thanks
Adam

Hi Adam, no problems at all cutting it down- apart from apparently having misplaced the Jigsaw when I moved house  I ended up using a large hacksaw for the rough cut and a Stanley knife and a file then wet and dry to tidy it up. I ended up doing it a bit quicker than I'd planned to get the wheels on so it was more a case of get it done and tidy it up later
The plastic is very soft, a new stanley knife blade cut through it like butter, along with my fingers a few times  but over all, very easy to do. You'll be able to keep your original fogs too, mine were attached to the lower trim panel... it was off first !
I cut the arch liners back but left the outer edge where it's attached to the wheel arch so neither the liner or the bumper flapped about. Probably cut it a bit much as if I go through water at any kind of speed, the water splashes out through the bumper vents and back over the windscreen :woohoo: that's how it's normally washed
To be honest, it was so easy the back was done too
Apart from KAP one the only places I've seen bash plates to buy was abroad, usually like this one or similar style for cut back chassis rails -
Have a look at the bash plate post in chat, I found photos on difflock that show exactly what you need to make you're own, may be your best bet ? one more for inspiration, if the file attaches -
Cheers for the heads up on the steadies Halford, they're a little cheeper than the ones I had seen below from Ratsport, I'll neeed to suss how I'm going to attach them before buying as these may be easier for what I was planning; one end on the bottom edge of the bonnet and remove the brackets from other end and put a longer bolt through the mounting bracket at the base of the light through the eye maybe ?
I do like the idea of being able to do my own powder coating, cheers Mike. Growing wedding plans and costs mean I might have to just get the sill covers on and worry about making it look nice later when there's more pennies
Er, I mean
 Then there might be sillyness like this -
- but probably not
Its 80 odd quid and is fake carbon fibre if anyone does fancy one, the website's in the UK.
As aside, I found a load of bits that could well be handy for Jimny modding on kitcarsolutions and europaspares - LED lights, net pockets for the back door, sheet aly in every shape & thickness under the sun, you name it
