My brother has Rough Country on his Jimny and the ride is very harsh compared to mine which runs on OME. It would seem that the shocks which are designed for a specific vehicle have to be better than a general shock that is only selected because of its size. For that reason I would be interested to know what the ride is like on Martin's Trailmaster. I can't help thinking it would be good as they are designed specifically for the car.

Manual VVT, 2 1/2" lift, ORA castor corrected arms, 2" ORA body lift, 4:1 transfer box, Uprated front shafts & CVs ERM , ARBs back & front 3.9 diffs, 6 point cage, ORA winch bumper - Superwinch EP9, ORA rear bumper, ORA axle truses, Diff guards ERM , TBR tank guard, Snorkel, Kumho KL71.30.9.50 15

I have a set of these front and rear

www.roughcountry.com/shocks_rc8000.html

although I haven't driven the car yet it is still in the build stage the suspension is all done, having done a 4.5inch lift I have a feeling I it is going to be a "spongy" ride but then this is what I'm after as I won't be doing long distance driving in it. so if i was using it as a daily driver then I would go for a harder shock minus the anti roll bar as this limits travel a fair amount on the axles off road.

ok i will bear all this in mind, i think i might go for the es1000, due to wnat to keep it on the cheap as much as possiable, its going to work out just under 500 for the shocks+springs, brake hoses and castor correcters, and on the other side i drive to sheffield every other weekend to see the gf at uni.

ES3000's are a bit too stiff for a Jimny, I run ES1000's and they are fine for all uses.

Yeh, fit hoses and lift kit, try it and see how it feels. Then you can fit the caster kit later if u like... havnt fitted mine yet. Not too bad though but some are worse than others it seems.
