Rusty bolts on locking hubs was created by Gadget
Noticed that the bolts on one of my locking hubs need a bit of TLC, so a silly question - can I remove the whole lot in one go to treat & spray, or should I do half at a time? I don't want bits falling off or pinging into the undergrowth unexpectedly!

Treat with a release agent and leave for 24 hours. Then try to break one bolt loose. If it comes out easily take another two out leaving 2 approx. opposite to each other. treat as required and replace. Then do the other two. This way you maintain clamping pressure on the seal.

There's nothing that falls out or pings off. Just be aware that most sockets will be 3/8th drive and so a bit fat for the scallops thus damage to the paint is likely. Or just mask off the brake and spray in situ.
