Doing an engine swap from a 1.3 single cam 2000 model to a swift 1.5 engine, has anyone else done this, haven’t yet put the engine in but already know most parts and gearbox aren’t compatible, what about ecu and wiring does this also need to be changed?

No, the G series wiring and ECU are not compatible with the M series engines. You would need to swap a complete wiring loom from a newer jimny. Or go for a standalone ecu. A G16 engine is an easier swap, but still requires an adapter for the gearbox.

So a wiring harness and ecu out of a m engine jimny will work with the swift engine?

Not only an m series ecu but a vvt or not depending on the donor motor. The vvt having a bump on the timing case none vvt being flat across.

I would say that not an ecu, but The ECU is needed.
And the harness, immo, and correct Key for the ecu.
For simplicity and to avoid the need to code stuff together I would not bother unless all nescessary items came from one donor.
But then it is not so simple anymore and so I wouldnt do it.
