Jimny jb43 2012 front caliper brakes interchangeable? was created by JimnyGeezer
Hi everyone (:
My first post on here, so sorry in advance to the mods if I am posting incorrectly.
As my subject title says, is it possible to use left side front brake calipers on the right side front brake as well?
Are both front brake calipers interchangeable?
Thankyou to anyone who can give me some insight.

They do list separate LH and RH caliper part numbers but as far as I can see they contain the same part numbers in each assembly.
9 times out of 10, if a brake caliper is "handed", its due to the position of the bleeder screw, which is a moot point on a Jimny as the caliper (and the bleed screw) is on the top of the rotor.

The only point I might caution is that an insurance company will not be accommodating in the event of a collision should the loss adjuster find it.

I can't see how they would be handed, the bleed screw and fluid entry are in the middle, and there are notches both sides of the fluid entry to retain the pipe either way.
As long as there isn't a part number cast into them that is different on each side no-one would be able to tell which was which if you brought a pair of replacements in the same box. The single ones on eBay aren't handed.
Is this because carparts4less only list the LH one?

Have had Jimnys gen2 and 3 for years and as the SJ413 calipers are the same too as the Gen3 jimny I have been swapping them around. I have no idea if the calipers I am using is from or for one or the other side. I might even have gen3 calipers on my gen2. They all look the same.
My current gen3 brake setup have the vitara calipers for vented rotors with the bleed screw on the side but I just bleed it with the calipers unbolted and the bleed screw up.
