Just a quick update and to thank people for their help,
My Machanic mate came identified the fault and cleared it.I checked the exhaust and found no issues although I expect to have to replace it next year at sometime. So at the mo I shall let sleeping dog lie although I have invested in an OBD code reader off eBay for £20

My daughters Swift had this light for a few years until I swapped the broken manifold cat for a liana one I found.. Dunno if it hurt the fuel economy but car ran Just fine all the time.
