2006 Body Mount repairs was created by Brendan
Afternoon all,
I took my 2006 Jimny VVT in for a MOT on Saturday and it’s safe to say it didn’t pass…
It received two do not drive (dangerous defect) for;
In contrary to the MOT testers words “We can scrap it directly for you” scrapping it isn’t a option, as it’s the equivalent of burning my money because I could, I’m aware I could scrap it but I’d just rather not.
Thanking you kindly,
Brendan (:

Given the money that they are going for scrap is simply not worth it. The panels are all available from Martin in the shop above and there are no shortage of competent body shops around the country who will turn out a meaningful repair for sensible prices. Don't give up on it.

Welding around the body mounts is a custom weld, there are no off the shelf body parts available for this. However there are plenty of small welding shops, often in farmyard workshops, who offer value for money welding.
I had two new body mounts fabricated and installed for £50, not due to rust but because I needed more space for the tyres.
