A fault key immo chip would make the padlock light in the dash blink instead of shining steady.
A engine fault code would / should make the check engine light shine.
But on a diesel I am not sure how well integrated the diesel canbus from PSA is with the Ktech something japanese in the suzuki.
Isn't this engine the same as some other make of car?

The Jimny Diesel JB53 was launched in late 2003, and Suzuki continued its association with Renault for supplying the diesel engine. The French carmaker’s DDis 1.5litre K9K engine powered the Jimny Diesel JB53. This engine was also used in Renault Clio and Megane, as well as the Nissan Micra and Almera.

this could help in searching for help elsewhere. To my knowledge there is one Jimny diesel in Norway and 2 or 3 in the UK so this is why we struggle to help.
Forgot to answer one questiion before. A leak would probably not show up on a diagnose but on a pressure test or measurement done with specialized equipment.
on most diesel systems there is a start pump or injector or on older a glow plug. most likely electrical so there should be a relay somewhere that could have an intermittent fault. this could get picked up by the diagnose.
