I've cleaned my Jimny inside and out. And now I notice that there's a 'hazy mist' on the inside of the instrument panel's plastic cover ('crystal' if it was a watch). I looks like there's 20 yrs of dust behind that plastic screen.

I've seen a YT video in which someone removes the dashboard's top panel and the instrument cluster for the replacement of the instrumens' lights. But I need something beyond that point. It looks like the plastic cover is clicked onto the housing, so I need to try to remove it with a small screwdriver(?). And the video doesn't show how to disconnect and connect the white 'lego blocks' with wiring. I'm sure I need to remove these as well; I need to turn the cluster around to get to the lower clips, I presume.

After that, the plastic will come off, I hope so that I can clean it.

Tips, how to's, warnings and pics are welcome!

EDIT: any tips on replacing the instrument panel's lightbulbs for LEDs?

Ok so buy the time you have the dash off 2 mins max , you then have to unscrew the four Philips head screws from the instrument cluster. The Cluster can be jiggled about now at this stage.
Now I have to say I found all this much easier when I had the steering wheel off and that wasn't a massive job either so consider that option and in my opinion found it easier to work with the instrument cluster as I had multiple bulbs to replace.
White lego block power connectors are simply pinch plugs. Just put on a head torch look down along the back of the cluster panel and reach in with your hand, pinch the block in the middle and wiggle the block out of its housing . Removing the cluster front cover will be much easier. Id say the little rubber fro the odo and trip reset might be in the cluster or missing thats how the dust is getting in Id say.

Thanks for the tips and the suggestion of removing the s/wheel first! I've read a 'how to' somewhere.
