front / rear weight distribution was created by HappyMug
Hi, I am looking at picking up a Jimny (unmodified gen 3) by trailer - it should fit on my flad bed trailer but only just so weight distribution front to rear will be important (as I don't have much scope to move the Jimny forwars or backwards on the trailer). Can anyone tell me what the front / rear weight distribution is on a gen 3? Thanks.

I could be imagining it but I think it is something like 52 front but I can't remember for certain.

One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

Don't know if this helps but I transport mine regularly on a 12ftx6ft ifor williams tipping trailer.
It fits with front bumper hitting the ladder frame and I can close tailgate. Probably not as much spare as you imagine.

Take the tyre pressures and work out the percentages and you wont be far off.

Based on the maximum axle loading figures and assuming they are physically equally as strong, these figures would suggest approximately 55% front / 45% rear distribution. Can't confirm any of this, but they are the only figures I have seen and in my mind it sort of makes sense.

Also if you have head room in the towing capacity of your combination it's possible to ballast the trailer too, a couple of bags of gravel judiciously placed could be all the difference.
