I'm a bit confused by some of the points on this post. If you set the headlight switch to:
Auto - the headlights turn on/off depending on the ambient light
Sidelight - does as it says and just turns on the side lights (note DRL's stay on with sidelights)
Dip Beam - Turns on the dipped beams regardless of ambient light
Off - just DRL's
If using Auto mode the High beam will only come on when no other light is detected i.e. no street lights, headlights or tail lights.
There is no speed sensitive setting.
I am speaking from a UK SPEC point off view here.

I think that there is.
One of the reason that I stopped using the "auto" setting.
Steve.

I stand corrected, thank you Steve.
The unlit roads I travel on are 50mph zones, so the dipped beams have never come on due to lower speeds. It's all starting to make sense now

Hi Soeley.
If you have only had Jimnys for years, like me, the fancy techs in the 2019 SZ5 take some time to learn. Especially when the dealers are on a learning curve as well.
One of my motos is " There is no such thing as a silly question, just silly people who don't ask them."

Hi Lambert.
The MOT garage didn't know how to adjust the beams!
Questions:-
There are two adjusters on each LED headlamp housing.
The top one is adjusted by a horisontal screwdriver.
The bottom one is adjusted by a verticlel screwdriver.
Question 1:- Which one adjusts the beam up and down?
Question 2:- If the main beam is adjusted down does the dip beam go down? ie. you can't adjust the one without the other?
The handbook says see the dealer. I am tempted to use the chalk on the wall method.

I don't have a 4 so I don't know which screw is up or left but with a dab of sharpie to align the screws back to how they are now it's not doo difficult to work out. I too use the wall method and have a set place on a wall that I always use and I calibrate it with any adjustments the mot do on their beam machine.
