Heating/defogging system performance was created by Awiz
1. 2001 jimny, never had a cabin filter as far as i know. Could the heater core be so clogged with dust and dirt that it affects the blower system's performance?
2. Anybody ever cleaned their heater core externally? Not talking about internal flushing here, but cleaning the dirt that might restrict cabin air flow.
3. If you have cleaned it, was it dirty? Did the job have an effect on the ventilation performance? Greater air flow?
I came across a guide on cleaning the top of the heater core on a Samurai, but has anybody done it similarly on a Jimny? I think the heater core is behind the radio in the air box, is this right?
It's not awful in my jimny, but I'm just thinking if this is something that should be considered.
Opinions?

They had a cabin filter box, you can put the filter in it.
Have you emptied the box of all the leaves that will be in there?
It could be one of the fan resistors have gone

Yes, I am aware of the cabin filter housing or where the filter could be in. I've taken out the narrow cabin filter cover. No debris in there now. It's just that as there hasn't ever been a cabin filter, all the debris that would have normally got caught in it has now ended up in the heater core(?) and in the cabin through the vents. Curious if the core is actually clogged or am I imagining everything.
I think the blower is alright for now. But I guess it wouldn't hurt if you could elaborate. If a resistor goes, it lowers the blower power? How should one diagnose that?
