Ah cool. I guess the guidelines apply more to lower profile car tyres that can't be stretched in the same way. Cheers.jackonlyjack wrote: Yes
I have also seen 235's and 31 x 10.5 on standard rims

for some reason no one makes them
I have 7" rims with 225 width tyres and have suffered rim damage while off roading
I would say use the standard wheels with 5.5" rims for 215 width
Thanks. I've decided to go for the 6" rims. They do seem harder to find but got a set of Dotz Dakar steel wheels in that size for under £200 delivered.
I'll post some before and after pics once I get the car and the wheels.

Did you get confirmation of standard offset? I've still seen 5 and 22 mentioned.

Found a German forum that confirms the offset is 5. They've had the new Jimny for a few months now and a few people have changed wheels and tyres. Here's an example of one:

I assume the Jimny kei car has an offset of 22 because it's got a narrower track but the Jimny Sierra has an offset of 5.

I have 235 on std wheels but have also been driving 235's on 7 and 8 inch wide wheels. I bought a set of used wheels once with 215 on 8.5 inch wheels, but that was pushing it..
Never had any issues with any of those.
having the correct (or best if modified) offset is more important.
