To reduce the gearing to counter larger tyres you need to fit the manual transfer case from an earlier car, or the electric transfer case from an automatic VVT Jimny. This will give you 30% reduction.

But the short version, do not do the swap.
Leave the R72 in and do the transfer case regear for 31"
Busta also suggest a plausible solution, sounds ok. but I havent done that excact setup in the grimjeeper calc.

I have allready replied to this. You must calculate your situation and your gears to your tyre size.Ok that is the opposite of what I thought, so what would be the best thing to do? Should I swap to the manual lever transfer case? Or swap diffs?
