Yeah. 4x4 to 4x2. In conjunction with the new Quaife helical diff a 4x2 Jimny would still do what bit of off road I need but with a load less unnecessary weight for my preferred "precision" driving helping the handling and the acceleration.

Only one or two came in from Germany on private import i think.
Easily spotted with no roof rails and black plastic bumpers, flares and skirts.
However the price and condition of the '99-00 4x4 Jimnys in Norway would suggest that this is not any point in doing.
And the change in front axle weight could be a problem with Norwegian Vegvesen.
To get it approved you would need documentation from Suzuki Norway RSA i think.

I have significantly improved the guide in the meantime, and added some pictures too.

I have just one uncertainty - is there any difference whatsoever between the components in the front wheel hub assembly between ABS and non-ABS equipped Jimnys?

I can see that there is no ABS sensor on the wheel hub on non-ABS equipped Jimnys, but I wonder what are the differences inside the hub assembly if any?

Me too. Ditch the front axel and have IFS. Out with the transfer box but not sure how the prop shaft would line up!

The diff is offset, so it wouldn't line up at all.

Having a propshaft offset in 2 directions isn't a problem though. Think of tractor pto drives. That said I would use a propshaft in 2 halves with a carrier bearing to minimise some of the angles on the ends.
