Hi, I’m looking to replace the old single din Stereo on my 2003 Jimny. From looking at the removal of the current single din Stereo and the little clock it looks like an actual double din sized hole.
Can anyone tell me what exactly I would need to install a double din into the Jimny. Is there brackets etc available and covers or is it impossible or extremely hard to do ?
It can be done. You need to chop away the plastic around the clock and coin tray with a dremel or similar to get the right sized opening and then make up some way of securing the headunit. I don't know of any kits available, so it's down to your own initiative! I did it in a Liana with a very similar dash. I made the hole tight enough that it was a push fit and didn't need any extra fastening. In a 4x4 I'd want it more secure though.
