Rim size for 195 / 80 / R15 ? was created by Boner
Hi, just picked up my first Jimny... have admired them for years, and have at long last gone out and bought one.
It’s a daily commuter, but also used in the fields over the weekend, no serious off roading.
I’m planning on fitting BF Goodrich AT’s sized: 195 / 80 / R15 - for a good visual look, as well as grip in the wet fields, and being tolerable on the road.
I’m confused about rims though. Want to buy a set of steelies to replace my corroding alloys. But can’t figure out what size rims (15”) to buy to fit these tyres.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Boner.

The standard wheel at 5.5j are fine. Most aftermarket ones are 6x15 that will also be ok.

Not sure you can get BFG's in 195/80/15
I think you will be looking at 215/75/15
As for rims just buy a set of standard jimny steels
with standard rims 215/75's will fit a totally standard jimny

Thanks for the replies.
My car’s a 2006im standard trim.
If I buy a set of BF Goodrich AT and whack them on 15/6 steel rims, will o encounter any rubbing etc?
Just want a little more grip down the muddy Somerset lanes Andy across the fields...
Cheers Boner

I got 205-75-15 remoulds which are meant to be roughly the same tyre size as your looking at, I had to remove my mud guards on the front because they rubbed like hell when steering but are fine now

These will suit your needs well:

Quiet like an AT, better than an AT in mud yet quite grippy on the road.
