I would fit a new cable for how much they cost. Also I recently changed my gearbox oil to Redline MTF and its improved the shifting.

Yes, another thing to do over the weekend, so redline MTF, I will certainly give that a try along with a new cable. thanks

my old one is for sale .... but you probably wouldn't want it. Noisy transmission, but never let me down. If you are interested though let me know. Its a 2001 with the M13a engine.

My old jimny sold already, first to see seemed to think I was selling a new car. Second was someone who looked it over pretty thoroughly and paid the asking price.

I fitted a new clutch cable and 1st is now much better, up to 90 percent success selecting first, before was around 50 percent at best. Now going to find the Redline MTL and hope for further improvement.
