Fitting A Handsfree Radio Question

Fitting A Handsfree Radio Question was created by bryn
I'm about to fit a blue tooth hands free and will be using a ISO SOT lead which fits into the back of the radio. I no longer have the radio code and if I'm quickly disconnecting the jack from the back of the radio and then reconnecting will I need the radio code.
Thanks for looking and if you have any tips on fitting a hands free (will probably go for a parrot) then they are gratefully received

I would use a spare battery and two wires to keep voltage
i'm sure any loss in volts will leave you needing the code

What about a bluetooth FM transmitter? They plug in your cigarette lighter and you tune the radio into the same frequency as the transmitter. No wiring involved, compatible with any FM radio.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

Maybe. The radio code wasn't activated by default so many Jimnys don't have a problem. You will need an adapter to connect an ISO lead to a Jimny radio. I'm not entirely sure what it is you plan to fit - you may find that the old Suzuki radio doesn't support it.

Thanks for your suggestions and help. I fitted the parrot hands free and its a piece of cake. I did use an ISO lead which initially is a little baffling considering the amount of plugs and sockets but is very easy (with a little youtube help).
I had quotes to fit from £50 to £100 but once I got the front console off which is done by taking out the ashtray and undoing 3 screws it took me about 15 minutes and a few tie wraps.
My jimny is a 2007 and the ISO lead fits 2003 on wards and the cost was £14 of eBay.
I did not need the radio code.
