grinding noise front axle was created by dylanaicsremi
Hi
every so often their is a grinding noise coming from my front axle when in 2wd?
not sure if it still does it in 4wd, it sounds like a driveshaft is away but i thought nothing in the front axle moves when in 2wd so rather confused?
any help thanks

vac hubs sticking in? if they are stuck in then they will make the half shafts turn, which could make noise from the front axle

Sounds similar to my issue, almost sounds like a wheel bearing has gone but comes and goes and disappears in 4x4 so can't be wheel bearing. I have been told it's possibly the rubbers on the property sharf? Not sure about this though. I had the noise on and off for a few weeks then disappeared for a few weeks.
