Implanting 2008 A/T VVT transfer case on 2004 jim was created by Jokerax
Hi Guys,
I have a 2004 A/T not vvt Jimny, the transfer case just started slipping (chain was stretched over the years).
I have 2 options, to purchase a used none vvt transfer case or to purchase an A/T 2008 vvt transfer case,
The ratio in the high remains the same but the low provides me with 23% drop.
Have anyone made such a swap?
I understand that there will be some electrical wiring adjustments required.
can anyone assist?
Thanx

Thanks for the info, but I already have it, I was asking regarding the swap procedure, not for the ratios.

I don't know of anyone who has done it but have wondered about the same myself so I'm interested what others have to say. You would need to fabricate some sort of controller for the actuator but I'm sure it's not rocket science. I'm not sure if the prop-shafts are the same.

Thanx Basta,
prop shafts are the same, implant is very easy, I've purchase the VVT transfer case, opened the selection up and now it seems preaty easy to make such a controller, need 2 relays for motor direction (1 NO, 1NC), 2 more relays for the selection swial (I've purchaedan F150, 2H, 4H & 4L swival), intending to make a small box instead of the leaver and the hole,
I think such a swap might make a great lowcost tune up for these who wish to go 215 wheels and for these who wants to reduse the low in 23%
