I was thinking of something like this:

I started out with nothing & still have most of it left

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Be ok, except the beam selector switch switches the earths, so take your relay coils to live instead of earth.
Good catch. Looked at the wiring diagram and you are correct. I took a whole 2 minutes to crudely modify another diagram which shows more accurately how the circuits would be handled. This should take care of energizing both high and low beam relays.

If you have a multimeter you can measure the drop along the wire by putting one probe on the live side of the bulb connection and the other probe on the battery live ( have lights turned on obviously ) any potential difference (voltage drop will be displayed on the screen and you can see if its worth while . It should be quite small , as a rule of thumb when checking the voltage drop anything above .5v is a problem (bad connection /partial break)
Actually, I already did. Sorry.....my fault. When I said I didn't take measurements, I meant for cable lengths and wire gauge. The gauge appeared to be 18awg but not sure.
The voltage drop was about .2 volts but considering that the affect of voltage drop on light output isn't linear, I was wondering if anyone had already integrated a relay circuit for their headlights. Adding to that, headlamp switches often use small, high-resistance contacts that cause some additional degradation over time and my .2 drop is on a 2015.
Either way the engineer in me has taken over and I purchased this:

I guess I can't leave well enough alone. In my defense, I would refer to Halford's post:

Understanding Engineers #6
Normal people believe that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Engineers believe that if it ain't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet.

I suppose its best to sort it now rather than get used to gradually dimming lights . Let us know how you get on, looking forward to it

Even though I can't do a final installation until the rest of my parts arrive, I decided that I could temporarily set up the new headlight harness to compare the difference with the factory wiring. I don't have a means of measuring output (other than my eyes) but there did seem to be an improvement. It wasn't as much as going to the Osram Night Breakers but at least (unless I'm only imagining) there was some. Since I plan on keeping the Jimny for a long time, I hope that preventing any degradation makes it worth the trouble.
