The springs in the friction/driven /clutch plate are there to help to isolate the transmission from the shock of the clutch engaging so would not be the cause of this I would think. I don't doubt your driving ability but sometimes after using the same equipment for a long time one can become immune to any small changes in the way it works. For example get into and drive a car you have not driven and you are well aware of how different some clutches can be in the way they bite etc.
