Hello Guys,
What's the best DIY way to lead a 12v power cable into the cabin from the battery? I'd like to supply permanent power to my dashcam and a small thermo meter - clock combo without touching the bunch of wires located underneath the dashboard.
Thanks for any tips!

I would spur off the cigarette lighter, or have you got a lot running off it already?

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Just run a cable from the battery + with an inline fuse holder at the battery end, needs a simple ring terminal at the battery. Then poke it through a suitable grommet or alongside an existing cable then you can neaten it up with some small zipties.
I connected a permanent 12V socket for my solar charger (don't waste your money
) to the live feed at the back of the clock as I was lazy, but the Jimny wiring is a bit marginal on a good day, so I'd go for a separate fused feed, rather than create future problems.

+1 on separate cable
i run 30amp wire in line fuse 20amp
to a terminal behind glove box
then take all need lives from that
with more lower amp fuses
