Sorry if this has already been mentioned but I was wondering if there is a way to disable the ESP/traction control in the 2015 jimny for sand driving. It can be switched off but comes back on automatically when the car hits 30-40km and it makes sand driving intolerable especially when chopping through the soft stuff. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this. The car almost comes to a stop as the TC applies breaks to the wheels to try and regain traction. When what you actually want is momentum. Obviously in low range this feature is disabled but then speed is limited and not ideal for any extended period of time. Any advise much appreciated!

Not many of us on here are lucky enough to be able to afford a new Jimny so there's not much experience of them on here yet.

Is there a fuse that you can remove without it effecting anything else?

If you hold the button down will it turn it off completely? That's what I had to do on my RX8. Always turn traction control off road as it can be dangerous on a slippery slope.

Yeah the fuse thing has been mentioned a few times. Seems like the obvious way to go.

If you hold the TC button down it will only switch off if you are going under 40km/h and it automatically engages once you reach this speed. There doesn't appear to be any way of turning it off completely, which seems weird. It usually kicks in when your on the soft sand driving along in the already worn tracks and if you try and steer out of the them it takes a bit for the tyres to bite into the edge. The TC i guess interprets this as some sort of loss of control and starts breaking randomly and cutting engine power. It's pretty annoying haha.

If taking out a fuse does work, then you could put a switch in the wire from that fuse and place it somewhere convenient so you could dis-arm it on the move.

I can see how annoying it must be!

haha yeah its pretty annoying, might hit up Suzuki and see if there has been any upgrades to the TC to make it either less fussy on sand or some sort of option to disengage altogether. I'm sure I'm not the only one having this issue with the 2105 jimny . In the mean time I may have a look at this fuse option for my next sandy trip.
