Maxxis MT 753 v Maxxis MA 751 was created by Buster1955
Hi, Folks.

After the great advice you all gave me last time I enquired about off-road tyres, I am now in a position to actually buy some. Because I'm living in the Aussie outback for five months, my options are a bit more limited. The local tyre outlet has recommended Maxxis MT 753 or MA 751. The reviews I have read show the MT 753 as the better one in the mud and sand which is a major consideration for me out here. My one worry is if these can be fitted without any mods to avoid jamming in the wheel arch on rougher terrain or during tight turns. Can anyone give me some further advice on these two options? Not worried about road noise or anything like that. Just not in a position where I could jack up to accommodate larger tyres.
Cheers,

John C.

Another tyre that the local shop can order in was Kumho Road Venturer AT51. I did a lot of reading last night and this one seems a very happy balance of what I now need. These seem to have good all round light off-road abilities ( as long as the mud doesn't get too deep), but still hold on well on wet bitumen, while not singing too loudly.

Anyone tried these and have any advice?

Cheers,

John.

Not those specific ones but I have had various maxxis tyres on other vehicles and they have been brilliant across the board so long as you don't ask too much of them beyond what they are designed for, like you say an at in deep mud will struggle just as much as an mt will on wet tarmac.
