Transfer box not disengaging was created by troggy
Hello again.

Nasty noise like transmission prob increasing with speed.

Changed wheel bearing which was shot (tool from big jim shop worked a treat)

Same noise

Put her in 4wd, green light flashing but seemed to be in 4wd (up a muddy road).
Pressed 2wd, noise gone :) BUT green light still flashing.
Drove around a bit, fine. Parked up, pressed and held 2wd button, light went out but noise back!

4wd again, then 2wd, noise gone light flashing.

Checked wheels- unlocked, wiggled prop shaft and is still connected to front shaft???

Seems transfer box not disengaging, any ideas? (push button type)

Ta muchly.

Just to add a bit.

The noise sounds like one hub has locked and is winding stuff up, but that's prob not it, it just has that sound.

I don't mind the front diff turning in 2wd as the hubs are unlocked and I can't see them locking on their own.
It's daughter's (greenpig) car though and if things went ***s up when she was driving, she'd throw a wobbly! :S

I had a similar problem with mine and it was a hub not disengaging. Is the light still flashing? its worth unplugging the connector from the rear of the transfer case and spraying some contact cleaner in there.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

Sounds like it's sticking in 4wd when you press 2wd and it's winding up.

Try reversing a short distance as you push the 2wd button.

Using an E10 socket take the freewheeling hubs off and check that one has not come appart.
