Switching Stereo was created by emu88
I bought a USB player stereo but am unsure how to wire it in with the existing wires. The instructions saw what each coloured wire is, but am unsure whether I should just match them up to the wires in the dash or not - besides, there are some extras. Below are photos of the various wiring, can anyone advise on how to connect it all? Thanks in advance!

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

What I did on mine was to buy an ISO adapter. I then cut the ISO plug off and soldered the wires to those from the stereo. You can then match up the wire colours from the pin designations specified by the ISO standard to those on the replacement head unit.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationThat's exactly what I did as it leaves the original Suzuki plug undamaged so you can return it to original if you need to.
Something like this. The Jimny loom plugs in to the white socket and your wires on the stereo should match the ones going to the ISO plugs. One plug is the power wires and the other is the speaker wires.
As said you can cut the plugs off and join the wires directly to your head unit.

Actually hang on, I think I might already have one of those adapters - looking at the photos, I have a blue connector attached to a white one, out of which come 2 connectors each of which have 6 pins in a row matching the back of the new head unit. Can I not use these?
On the new unit I have blue, red, yellow, black and then white & white/black and grey & grey/black from the front two speakers.
On the existing wiring that comes AFTER the blue connector, I have very similar colours. couldn't I just cut and join these instead? It's just I'm heading on a journey very soon and might not be able to wait for postage.
Existing wiring after the blue connector:
This is what is currently installed in my car (see photos in first post), so should be able to use that right?

Yes you already have an iso adapter fitted. Black plug is the power, brown plug is the speakers. Match these to the wiring on your new head unit and then roll those windows down! Boom boom!
