I have decommissioned the ABS on my Jimny, now a few months later I need to install a new rear wheel bearing, is it possible to replace with a none ABS bearing kit and save money - ie will it fit OK or is there something else forcing me to use the ABS kit ??

I once by mistake fitted an abs bearing kit to a non abs axle and it started leaking after 2000 miles, but was ok after the correct bearing kit was fitted. I believe the bearings are the same but the collar that holds the bearing on and the oil seal rides on is different :) :)

As said above the abs collar is different so I took the old one to a friend who is handy on a lathe and got him to make me one, £10 so now I buy non abs bearings and the retaining colers from him a lot cheaper.
