I have decommissioned the ABS on my Jimny, now a few months later I need to install a new rear wheel bearing, is it possible to replace with a none ABS bearing kit and save money - ie will it fit OK or is there something else forcing me to use the ABS kit ??

I once by mistake fitted an abs bearing kit to a non abs axle and it started leaking after 2000 miles, but was ok after the correct bearing kit was fitted. I believe the bearings are the same but the collar that holds the bearing on and the oil seal rides on is different

As said above the abs collar is different so I took the old one to a friend who is handy on a lathe and got him to make me one, £10 so now I buy non abs bearings and the retaining colers from him a lot cheaper.
