Broken coil spring - big job to change? was created by The Dug
The jimny failed it's MOT today with a broken OSF coil spring (and rear brake efficiency).
Problem is I go back offshore soon and don't have time to do it myself before I go so if it's a big job I'm thinking just get a local garage to do it then resubmit for MOT while I'm away.
Any thoughts?

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

Front spring should be pretty simple if the front shock mounts will come undone, I don't recall having to undo anything else to drop the spring out. The rear could be a seized handbrake cable, pistons or just shoes, none of which are that difficult to do. Even f you were to put it into a garage it shouldn't be more than a couple of hours labour.
