Can you change the transfer box brackets without taking the box out to install HD brackets ? change one side at a time?

Yes mate thats how i did mine. Small hands needed to get the bolts back in!!!!

I take it you mean the rubber mounts / straight through bolts for the Heavy Duty ones.

Bear in mind that the straight through bolt heavy duty type will increase transmission noise. If you have a standard transfer box I would stick with standard rubber mounts:

I can't see them in the BigJimny Store.

I would also have a Bash Guard and carry spare rubber mounts and the tools to change one and put grease on the threads of the mounts to stop them from seizing.

You then have a nice quiet transmission and should not cause any damage off road.
