They don't look massive chunky, but a lot more so than the Bridgestone Duellers do.
Excellent wet grip, quiet, and good grip in snow too.

I've got Geolandars on my road going 1.9 DDiS New Grand Vitara -

Very impressed with them!

Good at speed too... Apparently ;)

For tarmac, light off road, price, and wet grip rating I will be going for geolander when the time comes. Don't think you can go wrong with that compromise. I haven't heard any bad reviews myself.

I currently have Nexen Roadial AT tyres on and the jimny has felt very planted can't find them anywhere though.

I think it's wise to get a good grippy AT tyre with <C rating for 3 reasons. 1. If you are on road more than off. 2. It rains a lot in uk 3. The Jimmy is RWD!

I'm swaying towards grabber AT's at the moment, it was only you concern over winter grip that has kinda put me off the geolanders. Some more research is required regarding all season capabilities :) thanks for the feedback so far, it's very helpful.

think the Grabbers will have the edge over Geolandars with respect to snow, as grip on snow occurs when snow sticks to the tyre in the grooves and it's the action of "the snow on the tyre" gripping "the snow on the road" that provides the grip, and in this case the Grabber has a better tread pattern to keep the snow adhearing on the tyre.

but with respect to slush and ice, probably less difference, providing the Geolandars are M&S rated and perform at lower temps.

anyway, the last couple of winters have been pants ............. not enough snow, so not sure if this matters anymore maybe we've buggered the climate too much.

good luck with your choice, basically just comes down to budget and personal pref

;)

Lol, thank you.

Hal, I have watched a few YouTube vids that demonstrate the self cleaning of the grabbers tread.

I let you know how I get on :)
