Damage to rear prop shaft was created by Brave
Hi All,
Just a quick question, is it common after lifting your Jimny for the rear prop shaft to fail (at the Universal joint).
We took may friends Jimny out the other day, first time off-roading and half way into the trip his rear prop failed. The was not even hard just a few logging trails.
I am thinking of increasing my lift from a very sagged 2"to a possible 4". Has anyone else had the same issue?
Thanks

The universal joints will wear out over time. Lifting the car means they are working at a greater angle than they have previously, so may cause a tired joint to fail. A new joint or one in good condition should be fine though.

Thanks busta. So you think I'll have no problems with a 4" lift kit
