First things to check are the transfer box mounts and the gearbox mount, try lifting the back of the gearbox if you can lift it you need a new mount.

Hello and welcome, I had a rattling/vibration noise on mine thought it was rear gearbox mount or transfer box mount so replaced them all it was still there! just put up with it for 8 months until I changed the rear radius arm bushes last week and hay presto its now 90% better mine was only doing it from about 1500-1800 RPM mainly in second gear under load, don't know if this will help?? good luck

If the gearstick has gone stiff, it's very likely to be one of the mounts. Which is good news- cheap and easy to fix.

If it's REALLY loud, it could be a damaged prop or the prop hitting against something because a mount is broken.
