Front Bumper Problems! was created by G_D
Hi All!
I'm very new to cars, having just bought a Jimny as my first car, I had a little scrape to the front bumper the other day.
I got out to inspect it and it wasn't too bad. I managed to push the dent back out and polish it up so It's looking fine. However, I noticed that the bumper had bent a little and there was a tiny crack under the left light (still on the bumper). I looked underneath again and some ofthe little fittings, I don't know what they're called (they pop in through two holes and hold it somehow) had fallen out, I have looked around the area I had the scrape but with no luck.
Can anyone tell me what these little fittings are that hold the wheel guard ( I think that's what it's called) to the front bumper? Then I'll be able to order them and drive without them dragging against the wheel.
Any other suggestions (other that not crashing again
) would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Gavin

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Plastic rivets, or push fasteners.
eBay is full of them, you need the diameter of the hole that they fit through, probably 8mm.
Make sure that they are in England if you buy from eBay.
I would imagine that a motor factor would carry them if you need 3 or 4 now.
If you sneak around the car, you can "borrow" the odd one here and there to nail the trim back enough to use the car, then replace them. Use a screwdriver to lever the middle outwards, and they pull out
