I'm just about to the pull the trigger on a G16 engine for the Jimny, would anyone be able to offer any advice or wisdom, on what I think I know so far, I know I could be miles out with some of my thoughts here:
as far as I gather, it's pretty straight forward swap but I'll need:
1) A jimny sump + pickup (or a GV pickup and sump?)
2) The right number of lobes on the cam, potentially meaning swapping the cams? (2 or 11?)
3) A modified NS engine mount (and maybe a small spacer on the other side I don't know?)
4) A slight modification to the PS bracket?
5) The Jimny intake manifold
6) Some sort of adapter plate to mount the gearbox (or possibly just tap some holes in the engine/box I think I heard?)
7) A Bosch "skinny" starter
Green Injectors (I'm really hoping it has the right green injectors, I gather there are 2 types!)
It's not going to happen overnight, I'll probably refurb the G16 first, (oil seals, valve clearance, stem seals maybe regrind the valves, cam/aux belts etc)
I'm going to try and get another G13B gearbox on the cheap over the coming months as I'd like to pull mine apart and see if anything can be done to improve the 1st gear synchro - its becoming embarrassing

If you get the engine with the 2 lobes on the cam pick up its no big deal i didnt remove the cam i pulled the pick up ring off with a small bearing puller and tapped the 11 point one back in place, runs a treat i blocked lower pick up point off with a engine core plug

the projects off!
I spoke to the seller on Tuesday, he wouldnt allow me to pay by palpal, and I was waiting for a new card to arrive, he reduced the price on ebay to what we'd agreed and didn't bother to inform me actually he was willing to sell via ebay at that price and through paypal someone else snapped it up, paid and posted through paypal! Despite me confirming yesterday that my new card arrived and I'd be calling him this morning to sort it out.
what an absolute, total and utter f*&ing c**t
