OEM Parts was created by virginian
My apologies for posting in the wrong section for the last 2 days  newbie etc  Electrical sensors etc. Main dealer or pattern part?.... I work at a F..d dealership, where customers are given a choice of OEM or pattern parts for renovation, quality is definable and price differential discernable. Are Suzuki subject to poorer quality pattern parts, or can you get a supply of quality parts at realistic prices? I'm planning to keep my Jim for the long term and want to start off buying bits in the right market ( see my previously mislpaced posts....sorry) :S

I would get genuine sensors as aftermarket ones can be poor.

Some can be bought from the Bigjimny shop too.

Suzuki dealers are not always expensive either.

Once you have a part number you might be able to get them elsewhere online too.

Received & fitted the OEM sensor from Suzuki today, & thankfully the temp readout was linear, & didn't drop off when the coolant operating temp was reached. Which was nice.... The e-blag special I tried first ,will have to be put down to experience, ....OEM all the way from now on.....unless the Bigjimny shop stocks it....of course. :)
Tomorrow I will be fitting the new rad iv'e bought with a fresh coolant charge, then I will be mainly driving round & round ...to enable the ECU to re-learn the fuelling parameters after clearing all the fault codes today. ( at least thats what it says in the manual ; ) ) cheers all

Yeah......, been a good day today,... drained & flushed the rad, 3x......then dragged it out,.... Checked the 2 drive belts....alternator belt was new, but power steering belt was original & cracked,....Suzuki parts don't open on Sat  , so a trip to Europarts down the road did the trick,... new belt was duly fitted while the rad was out.
Again.... while the space permitted,... I've applied a coat of Hammerite Kurust to all the cruddy, rusty bits of metal that Suzuki couldn't be assed to attend to....., even after a 17 year production run of a beautifully ingenious design  ....& tomorrow I will finish the job off for them, by applying a coat of Hammerite topcoat, then slot a shiny new rad back in its place. B) Next w/end...Shocks
