Am i right thinking this will be ok to wire batteries in parallel using this? Basically the 2 batteries wont ' steal' from each other and eventually go flat using this? Would the batteries need to be the same?
Cheers

Correct.
But do you really need it?
Of you have a pair of good quality batteries there's no need for a relay like this.

Aye cheers. I was going to put the battery in the back as no room under the bonnet now. Would I be able just to earth the second battery somewhere in the back. The jimny electric systems a bit baffling!

What is that thing anyway? It looks like just a standard 200A relay, you should get change out of £10 including delivery for a good one.
Also, do not use the alternator/charge light wire as the instructions included with the kit might well suggest, it forbidden in the Jimny Manual to attach anything to that wire, no idea why but if they went to the trouble of making the point, there must be something behind it.
I was looking at a Durite 140A split charge relay, it senses the voltage on the line and automatically turns on and off - no wiring into the loom or anything, just fit it inline on the +ve and earth it via the mounting bolts- done.

And thats my planned wiring setup but I haven't done it yet. I got conned on ebay, paid good money for 25mm2 cable, was sold as 170A, turns out its max safe was less than 80A, it wasn't even copper core (it was copper coated aluminium) I went to WECS in Sheffield and picked up 10 meters of 25mm oil and petrol resistant silicone cable, the difference in quality is remarkable and it was only £28 inc. VAT, I think they charge a little more delivered Link
