Hello,,, I would like to fit some homemade bull bars to my Jimny 2009 along with some spots lights,,, rear bars too. What are the regulations involved with this? I live in Bulgaria and many cars around the city are old therefore cars do get nudged from time to time in car parks etc. My main reason for fitting is to protect the Jimny from these motorists. I do drive off road along the cliffs of the Black Sea coast so good lights at night are needed. Any thoughts Lads. :)

Hi,
in the UK I am pretty sure you can fit home made stuff like this, as long as it does not have sharp or pointy bits to damage pedestrians, or impale cyclists.

Bulgaria- absolutely no idea! sorry, but at least you got a reply! Good luck.

Hi Troggy, Thanks for the input, Bulgaria is fairly relaxed about stuff like this (maybe different though if there's an injury) so I will always carry out work based on the uk regs which are respected throughout EU. I just wondered if there were height restrictions to the front or rear and for a short cut using the experiences of this group as I see many on the forum with Jimny's covered in bars.... I've seen some bars on ebay stating manufactured on the continent Holland I think, so I guess the same regs would apply throughout the EU, Ill 'let you know if I find further advice. Cheers Mate.
