Upgraded heavy duty clutch kit??? was created by davert85
Hi all,

As you may or may no know from a previous post, i have a suspected broken clutch.
What im wondering is, is there any upgraded, heavy duty, uprated off road clutch kits, flywheels etc out there that i can get which will hopefully reduce my chances of this happening again.
If there is whats the cost and where from?

Any info would be great thanks chaps.

Execdy clutches work well, I have one fitted to my J and I do a lot of laning etc. You can find them in the BJ shop here: www.bigjimny.com/store/index.php?_a=product&product_id=201

As for flywheels, the standard flywheel on a Jimny is fine. All you need to do is make sure that if you have burnt out your clutch that there are no scorch marks on it, which can cause cracks and high spots. I had to replace my flyweel as mine had a couple if high spots which would cause uneven wear on the new clutch if not changed.

The BJ shop states the Excedy clutch only fits non-Spanish models so I guess that pretty much equates to the soft-tops. Not saying your are wrong, but it might be worth checking out.
