for a while now, every now and again i get a puff of smoke on startup. its just gone through the mot with good emissions pass and theres no smoke whilst running. there does seem to be a little oil in the bottom of the air filter box from time to time.
i have seen odd posts when searching about engine oil stop leak products and i'm wanting to know whether anyone has used these long term and if they would fix this ?
cheers rob

Something similar was mentioned in another topic recently. The consensus was that its a Jimny quirk to smoke on start up if its been previously started but not warmed up. I did the same and assumed something was wrong as mine would regularly blow a fair bit of smoke on start up but it randomly stopped a few months ago. After reading the other topic I realised the smoke stopped about the same time I stopped having to move the Jim every time some one else wanted to go out. Seems if they get shut off before they get off start up enrichment they over fuel on next start up. Might just be this in your case?

I've been an advocate of this for a long time.
