re the rad cap - I think on the dohc engine it should be rated at 1.1bar. I have a 0.9bar on my G13BB Jimny and a 1.1bar on my M13A

Ok can change that for a few quid but would this give it a heating problem ?

Tried the test didn't have a newspaper though so used a pizza box lol but couldn't stop the fan ?

Sounds like the fan is ok. Worth swapping the rad cap first fit the correct y rated one as this is an easy job

Re the pics yes that is where the thermostat lives. Bugger to get at

Just been looking around engine and have noticed the radiator bottom hose is stone cold after letting the car idle to normal temp I'm assuming this isn't right
