15psi will help with the soft sand but the overheating might indicate a blocked core or fan not running or loose fan belt.

Hey millzy,
I have a 06 jimny and I live on bribie island so I'm on the beach a lot and I've never had any overheating problems, I used to go 15 psi but I got over pumping them back up all the time as some days I just go for a quick drive on the beach and have a coffee and read the paper, so eventually just tested the waters running normal tyre pressures.
I've done this on the standard tyre's and mud terrains and on hard and soft sand and never had any issues
