I have a 2003 Grand Vitara GV1600 3 door that has rotten outer sills. Suzuki have never sold them or offered them. They used to sell you the whole side panel if you needed them but no longer do that now! Does anybody know of a supplier apart from a scrappy! The offside one I have managed to weld a patch in (and repaired the mid sill too) as it was only about a foot by 6 inches but the nearside one is a lot longer. It has also got a bit of damage on the inner sill.

I tried their website(prasco) but no good. They only cover the wings and things.

I've found rotten sills a lot in the Vitaras I have owned and ended up just patching them cos they have black plastic coverings.

Mine do not have covers but still rotted. The paint is good and the sill ends are intact so they must rot inside to out because the steel must be crap! There is no sign of any paint or waxoyl type stuff in the sill cavities so there you go. Well done Suzuki! It was picked up on an MOT newbie who managed to produce 3 pages of failures and advisories. One was for rust on the rear damper upper covers because they had rust on them!! There was, but only surface rust, and I am sure that was not necessary. It was at Halfords. Need I say more? As the Vitara has a massive chassis I am surprised the sills are regarded as structural. Any comments on that?

Not allowed holes within a certain distance to the seatbelt mountings, so that's probably why they didn't like a bloody big hole on the sills, a foot by 6 inches is the small one, park it in the sea regularly do you ?
