gearbox oil grade was created by wombat
hi, wanting to change gearbox oil on my 2008 vvt manual. the handbook and autodata say use 75/90 gl4 oil. we have 75/90 gl 5 at work and our parts suppliers say this will do, but im not so sure. can anyone help me on this please ? :S

Don't put GL5 in a gearbox!
It contains additives that will eat through the softer metals used in the gearbox (used in the synchromesh mechanism I think).
GL5 can be used in the diffs though.

Correct gearbox oil TRX synthetic 75w90 Miller ref 5252 holds 1.1 litres, transfer box is the same oil type and holds 1.43 litres
