Kingpins fixed then not fixed was created by L7kvv
As title says, i changed the bearings on my jimny. Drove couple of miles, very tiny faint wobble that you prob wouldnt notice if u wernt looking for it. I rarely use the car so didnt notice it getting worse but now as bad as ever and its probably only done 50 miles.

Could it be the actual kingpins may be bent, or perhapse the race isnt seating properly. It seems pretty clear the cv joint has gone at some point. As there are chunks out on the inside of axle.

Wobble isn't just caused by kingpins could be a massive amount of thing like balancing wheel bearings etc look up the death wobble thread on here

Shims sorted mine out, but as said above could be other stuff.

I replaced both sides on my other jimny. There was no play at all with the wheel, either side to side, top and botom, or up and down. First thing i did was change wheel over, hepled a little so got it balanced, and ive smoothed off the back of wheel disc surfaces etc.

The kingpins looked ok and the bearings i took out wernt bad, not like my other jimny. But i thought it was genuinely fixed but now itd back. Thought about shims but unsure how they work

Shims increase the preload on the bearings. Suzuki sell them, but much better value from the bigjimny shop. My wheel bearings / kingpin bearing showed no signs of wear / free play but i still had wheel wobble. Common problem with bigger tyres.

Shims will make the make the wheels feel tighter as you move them left and right once you've undone the ball joints.just experiment to find the right amount of shims needed for each pin. There's a good description of how to do them in the shop. Easy job to do.

Other poss causes could be worn tie rods or bushes.

Shims come with a bit of a warning that they could shorten the life of the bearing though, just don't over do I reckon
