Did you change the wheel bearing when you done the seal?

No I thought mechanic would have done it when he did the seal but said didn't need too which sounded strange to me because the seal obviously went for a reason..... What do you reckon

A knackered bearing will allow the halfshaft to wobble which knackers the seal, chances are your bearings gone.jack it up and see if there is any play in the wheel, SLIGHT in out play is normal but if theres play in any other direction then the bearings probably gone.

Any decent garage should have recommended changing the bearing aswell. To me it seems silly not to tbh.

Me and the misses recently done both mine a couple of weeks back, one side was leaking and the bearing had split the whole way around and was in 2 halfs, the other side wasnt leaking and to the untrained eye the bearing looked ok, on closer inspection it had bulged in one spot so was stopping the balls going round properly sounded like the wheel was locking up was horrible!! Once we cut it off the damage was visible, every ball was flat spotted and rusted.
